Welcome to the Ventura Buddhist Center, the heart of An Lac Mission (Tu Viện An Lạc). We are a nonprofit Buddhist organization based in scenic Ventura County, California. An Lac Mission is dedicated to promoting human excellence through the teachings of the Buddha. Our center offers a space to quiet the mind, connect deeply with life, and practice togetherness. Through meditation, chanting, and the study of the Dharma, we strive to cultivate compassion, mindfulness, and wisdom.

Our temple was founded by Vietnamese monks and nuns, under the guidance of Venerable Thich Thong Hai, to create a welcoming space for all who wish to experience Buddhism. Although founded by the Vietnamese sangha, An Lac Mission embraces people of all backgrounds and beliefs. Our community serves as a spiritual home and a center for cultural learning, education, and charitable outreach, supporting not only the Vietnamese Buddhist community but also Sri Lankan and American practitioners.
