A Call for Support for the People of Myanmar & Thailand After the Earthquake

Namo Shakyamuni Buddha,
Dear Monastic Sangha,
Dear Friends near and far,

In recent days, Myanmar and Thailand have suffered tremendous loss and hardship following a devastating earthquake. This disaster has caused great damage to life and property. Nearly 3,000 lives have been lost, thousands of people are injured, and countless families are facing difficult and unstable conditions.

With a heart of compassion guided by the Buddha’s teaching, the Vietnamese American United Buddhist Congregation respectfully sends this letter to call upon all Monastic Sangha, lay Buddhists, and compassionate friends around the world, to join us in offering support and prayers for the people of Myanmar and Thailand.

Support can be given through financial contributions or through prayers for peace and healing for those who are suffering.

Every act of generosity during this time will bring light and hope to those in need, giving them strength to overcome pain and rebuild their lives.

We pray that the blessings of the Three Jewels will protect and guide all those affected by this tragedy, bringing them peace, safety, and comfort.
